Erecting boxes within seconds

Food & Packaging

Box-erector by ASA Automation

The box erector from ASA Automation, designed as a double station, unfolds two boxes every three seconds. Manually, such a performance could only be achieved for a short time. Empty, folded boxes are pulled into the station in stacks. Sensors arranged on both sides of the erecting station signal which side parts are folded in which order. The robot progressively raises the side panels; the correct engagement of the side panels then is checked. Poorly closed or flawed boxes are rejected before they can run onto the conveyor to the filling station. Even though there is no primary food contact, major parts of the robotic cell are made of stainless steel to simplify cleaning.
